History

1960’s

Founded in 1965 by Patsy Forbes, Forbes Furniture manufactured suites of furniture for both the domestic and commercial markets. We quickly established a reputation for exceptional quality at affordable prices, an adage we still adhere by today.

1970’s

A decade of rapid expansion, the 1970’s seen the addition of the kitchen manufacturing plant to Forbes Furniture. Over the next four decades, thousands of kitchens were fitted in homes and commercial buildings through-out Ireland and the U.K.

1980’s

With both the upholstery and kitchen departments growing from strength to strength, the third division of Forbes Furniture Group was established – the Contract Furniture department. By applying the continued ethos of exceptional quality at affordable prices, over the next few decades, the Contract Furniture department was to develop into the back-bone of Forbes Furniture Group.

1990’s/2000’s

It was during this time that Forbes Furniture Group entered the domestic furniture market. A furniture superstore was opened in neighbouring Magherafelt and furnished many homes throughout Ireland and further afield. Meanwhile the Contract Furniture department continued to flourish.

2010’s

Continually adapting to the ever changing markets, Forbes Furniture Group amalgamated it’s upholstery and kitchen manufacturing departments into it’s Contract Furniture department. To compliment this, we also opened our loose furniture contract department, supplying quality loose furniture to many sectors, again throughout Ireland and the UK.
